While the weeks crawled away into months there’s still no job. As the paradigm shifted a while ago from “I need to find a job fast” to “ I wish that I could find a way to make a quick buck”, the light at the end of the tunnel looks yet dimmer. We’re broke, the marriage is strained to a new limit and I’ve got nothing to show for the last year of my life.

I know the feelings and I know the game so there’s the real dose of sympathy you needed. No measure of politics can be called upon to fix it so don’t hold your breath for that. What you’re not being told is that a very high likelihood exists that it will not get better any time soon. These conditions could very well get even worse. It’s time to get tough and resourceful and aggressive while you still have a chance.
