Common Accountant Job Duties

• Performs accounting services to small businesses, corporations, government agencies or individuals
• Prepares profit and loss statements, monthly closing and cost accounting reports
• Analyzes and reviews budgets and expenditures
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare general ledger accounts and document monetary transactions
• Creates and reviews budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, tax returns, invoices and other accounting documents
• Explains accounting policies to staff, vendors or clients
• Recommends, develops and maintains financial data bases
• Resolves accounting discrepancies
• Interacts with internal and external auditors in completing audits

Common Accountant Job Skills
